KTM just took the wraps off its new four-stroke and two-stroke enduro models. Now, it’s also revealing the Six Days range, inspired by and designed for the International Six Days Enduro (ISDE).
The ISDE is one of the most challenging events in off-road racing, bringing in teams from all over the world to compete. For 2023, the ISDE runs in Argentina. KTM has a new range of up-spec’d models to match the event.
The Six Days range from KTM always combines upgraded components with a special paint job to commemorate that year’s race, but the bike usually runs the same engine and suspension as the standard model. This year, KTM’s enduro machines are already much-changed from last year, with 95 percent new parts, with a particular focus on the chassis (see our write-up here). So that means the new Six Days range will get a new orange powder-coated frame, new 48mm WP XACT closed cartridge fork with mid-valve piston design and a new WP XPLOR PDS shock, plus the following list of goodies only on the Six Days models:
- Orange frame protectors
- Grippier SIX DAYS specific seat
- Handlebar with specific SIX DAYS bend
- Anthracite coated silencer with SIX DAYS logo
- GIANT high-strength rims with SIX DAYS logo
- Orange-anodized CNC machined triple clamps
- Orange front axle puller
- Semi-floating front brake disc
- Solid rear brake disc
- Rear brake safety wire
- Orange Supersprox stealth rear sprocket
- Orange chain guide
- Composite skid plate
- Map-select switch
- Radiator fan
- Metzeler 6 Days Extreme tires
You’ll notice those are all bolt-on bits that don’t add any horsepower or change the suspension.
On the two-stroke side, KTM will offer the 250 EXC Six Days and 300 EXC Six Days. For four-strokes, there’s the 250 EXC-F Six Days, 350 EXC-F Six Days, 450 EXC-F Six Days and 500 EXC-F Six Days.
How to get a Six Days model
Authorized KTM dealerships will be able to order you a Six Days model in starting in June, As well, if you’re headed to the ISDE, you can rent one! Or at least, you can rent the 350 EXC-F, at least. It’ll cost you 3,900 euros to rent it over the ISDE, and that rental price includes cost of transporting the bike to the event, as well as the cost of registration and insurance. It’s a clever way for KTM to keep racking up the trophies, by making it easy for racers to run their bikes, just like it does with factory support at the Dakar Rally. KTM even offers a servicing package for the ISDE, reducing teams’ workloads.
